Stacy Annette Breuklander
Stacy Annette Breuklander passed away Monday, Oct. 28, 2019, at the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, after an 11-year courageous battle with brain cancer.

Stacy was born Dec. 14, 1966, in Norman, Oklahoma, the daughter of Everett and Doris Grigsby. The family moved to Tahlequah in 1968, where Stacy attended school until her junior year. She graduated from Robinson High School in Fairfax, Virginia. She attended Bacone College where she became a registered nurse. She later attended the University of Oklahoma where she earned her BSN.

Stacy thrived in her chosen profession, working first at Tahlequah City Hospital and then at the VA Hospital in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Her career ended abruptly when she was diagnosed with brain cancer, specifically oligodendroglioma, the same type that had taken her father's life in 1997. Following her medical retirement, Stacy volunteered at the Cherokee County Affordable Law office, continuing her life of service.

Stacy was married to Clay Breuklander for 21 years and they had three sons, Bo, wife Moyin, Cordell, and Drew, who all survive her. She is also survived by her mother, Doris Grigsby; grandson, Everett Breuklander; and a host of loved ones, both family and friends. Being an only child, she enjoyed a special life-long relationship with her "borrowed siblings," Connie Wiseley-Singleton and Kevin Wiseley.

She was preceded in death by her father, Everett Grigsby; and her granddaughter, Ava Breuklander.

Through Life Share, Stacy's corneas and parts of her skin were donated for those in need. Stacy and her father were both involved in national research projects, hoping to help others with the same diagnosis.

Stacy wished for those efforts to be continued. It is suggested that in lieu of flowers, donations might be considered to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, online at omrf.org/give or 825 N.E. 13th, Oklahoma City, OK 73104, in memory of Stacy.

A memorial service will be held at Green Country Funeral Home at 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019.
