Shirley Poor Obituary

Tahlequah, OK - Shirley Ann Poor, 88, of Tahlequah, went home on September 30, 2025. She was born on November 18, 1936, in Burnt Cabin, Oklahoma, to George Lee and Rosa Lee (Marksberry) Turner.

Shirley spent many years working as a secretary, helping folks find work through staffing and job placement, but her happiest times were outside of the office. She loved crocheting and could often be found working on a new project while enjoying a puzzle or a good card game. She liked to fish, never said no to ice cream, and could always make a house feel like home. One of her proudest accomplishments was earning her GED at the age of 65, proving it's never too late to finish what you start. She also enjoyed worshiping with her friends at Masena Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Ray Poor, her daughter, Linda Kay Bowdler, six brothers, three sisters, and a host of other family and friends who went before her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter Kathleen Pruznick, her grandson Edward Ray Bowdler, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Shirley will be remembered for her warm heart, her humor, and the way she enjoyed life's simple things, from a good fishing trip to a bowl of ice cream. Most of all, she'll be remembered for the love she poured into her family and friends.
