Tahlequah, OK - Lucretia "Lou" Ruth Moore (née Tennison), of Tahlequah, OK, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026. Lou was born on February 23, 1941, in Tahlequah, OK and was the child of Ray Tennison and Alice Tennison. She was raised by George Tennison (Ray's brother) and Lillian Tennison.

She worked as a waitress to put herself through school and earned a master's degree in education from Northeastern State University. Lou worked as a Math and English teacher at Grandview Elementary School before becoming the principal. She loved her students like her own family and made a difference in many students' lives.

Lou enjoyed tending to her rose bushes, quilting, playing the piano, and playing dominos. She grew up Pentecostal, and her faith was a very important part of her life.

She married Billy E. Moore in 1957, and they were lovingly together for 55 years. The couple had one daughter, Debra Moore, in 1958. Lou is survived by her daughter, Debra, and her granddaughter, Jordan Moore. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy in 2012. Lou will be remembered as a dedicated educator, a loving mother, and a doting grandmother. She will be missed by so many.

Funeral service will be held at Green Country Funeral Home on Friday, January 16, at 2 pm. Family to receive friends will begin at 1 pm on Friday in Green Country's Foyer.
