Blanche was born in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, the daughter of Hester (Scott) and Theodore "Wob" McKee on April 5, 1928. She died in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Jan. 25, 2020.

Growing up in the Barber area of Cherokee County, Blanche was a 1948 graduate of Cave Springs. She began working in retail shortly after graduation. She had a 25-year career at Walmart, retiring in 1995. Her time was spent caring for and mothering her local nieces and nephews. To her family she was the equivalent of "Google" when it came to family history. Blanche would spend her quiet time doing embroidery, and listening to some classic country.

Blanche was preceded in death by her parents, Wob and Hester McKee; husband, Albert "Dump" Steeley in 1981; two sisters; a brother; and a close cousin, Juanita Philpott.

She is survived by three sisters, Coweta Ruckman, Bonita Fortney, and Betty Jo Corn; nieces and nephews, Paula Byars, Max Ruckman, Carla Casady, Kim Casady-Henley, Pam French, and Debbie Yandell; 11 great-nieces and -nephews; two special great nieces, Alecia Vincent and Kristin French who helped care for her and her needs; and a host of other relatives, friends, and loved ones.
