HULBERT – Funeral services for Ronald Jackson Gassaway, 72, of Hulbert will be at 11 a.m., Monday Aug. 17, at the Hulbert Baptist Church. Officiating will be Bobby Botts and Rev. Glenn Rowan. Those serving as pallbearers are Joe Butler, Marlon Gordon, Bill Hughes, Will Botts, Jack Teague, and Shannon Moore. Honorary pallbearers listed are his grandsons, Bobby Jack Gassaway, Robert Gassaway, Jace Shepherd, JR Gassaway, Ed Patterson; and nephews, Will Jenkins and Ronnie Moore. Ronald Jackson Gassaway was born June 17, 1943, in Muskogee, to Robert Jackson and Anna Lee (Campbell) Gassaway. He passed away on Aug. 13, 2015, in Tulsa. Ronald was a lifelong resident of Hulbert, and a 1961 graduate of Hulbert High School. He married Deloris Patterson on June 28, 1983, in Claremore, and last month they celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary. He worked at Corning Glass in Muskogee for 25 years before he began working for Cherokee County District II for 15 years. Ronald was a trader, trading all things. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and going camping. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Anna Lee and Jack Gassaway. He is survived by his wife, Deloris of the home; six children, Debbie Shepherd and husband Jay of Fort Gibson, Lenia Moore of Fort Gibson, Tommy Compton and wife Misty of Catoosa, Randy Gassaway and wife Lisa of Tahlequah, Doug Phillips and wife Dori of Muskogee, and Ricky Gassaway and wife Laurie of Hulbert; his sister, Annette Jenkins; brother, Mike Gassaway; 15 grandchildren; and numerous other extended family members, and friends.
