BAXTER SPRINGS, KANSAS: Robert Nathaniel Nate Bohannan, age 15, passed away Thursday morning at Integris Baptist Hospital, Oklahoma City, OK following an illness.
Nate was born December 12, 2001 in Joplin, Missouri. His parents were Robert Robbie Bohannan and Jada Shanel Shafer. He has lived in Baxter Springs and Tahlequah, OK most of his life.
He was a student at Baxter Springs USD #508. He enjoyed reading, playing video games, swimming, and playing with this brother, Javen. He attended church at Mt Hope Church of Christ, Webb City, MO. He was a member of the Cherokee Nation tribe.
Surviving is his step-father and mother, Steven and Shanel Alexander, Baxter Springs, KS; his father, Robbie (wife, Patty) Bohannan, Perry, OK, two brothers, Javen Xavier Alexander of the home, and Preston Bohannan, Perry, OK; one sister, Tyleigh Root, Enid, OK; grandparents Stanley and Laurie Shafer, Baxter Springs, and Missy Bohannan, Palatka, Fla; uncle, David Shafer, Baxter Springs,; aunt, Aimee Bohannan, Joplin, MO; and an extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins from the Alexander/McHenry/Shafer/and Bohannan families.
He was preceded in death by one grandfather, Robert Bobby Bohannan.
Funeral services will be at Mt Hope Church of Christ, Webb City, MO at 2:00 pm on Monday, July 24, 2017. Pastor Curtis Prunty will officiate. Burial will be at Baxter Cemetery, Baxter Springs, KS.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, on Sunday, July, 23, 2017 at Derfelts Baxter Chapel, Baxter Springs, KS
