Memorial services for Patricia Oleta Killingsworth will be held on Friday, January 27th, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Reed-Culver Chapel with Brother Glenn Rowan officiating. Online condolences for the family may be left at www.reedculver.com.
Patricia Oleta Killingsworth was born on September 9th, 1948, in Pierce, OK, the daughter of Earl and Nora "Pauline" (Lankford) Killingsworth. She was raised with four of her five brothers and three sisters, John, James, Marion, Donald, Hershall, Helen, Hester, and Marilyn. She completed her Associates Degree in nursing in Shawnee as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Patricia was the mother of three children, Hershall, Angela, and Christina. They were the joy of her life. When she could no longer fulfill her career caring for the sick, she began shelling to provide for her family. Shelling in Ft. Gibson Lake was something the whole family enjoyed together. When she was not shelling, she was home, working in her garden raising beautiful flowers and vegetables. She kept a pond stocked with fish that she fed daily. Livestock was a really big interest in Pat's daily life, she loved animals. She was a talented scout and knew where to find the elusive mushrooms, watercress, and crawdads that she enjoyed finding. There were always little treasures to collect for her home, some of those being pigs and wolves. She liked to curl up in a chair with her favorite dachshund and cuddle on the couch with her five wonderful grandchildren and two great grandchildren. There was nothing better for Pat than to plan a holiday dinner or gathering with her family all around her. Pat would venture out to Dwain's Place for an evening talking with her friends. There never seemed to be enough hours in the day to do all the things she wanted. Pat was funny, and always had the smile on her face that made you feel like you were with your best friend. She loved her family and always made time for what was important to them. Pat was the type of person who would give you her last dollar if she thought she could help. Her health began to fail her and Pat passed from this life on January 21st, 2017 at her home, with those she loved by her side. Pat was 68 years old. She will be greatly missed for all the love she shared with everyone she knew.
Patricia is preceded in death by her mom and dad, Earl and Pauline Killingsworth, three brothers, John, Marion, and Hershall, her grandchild Leslie Favorite, and her sister-in-law, Burnis Killingsworth and brother-in-law, Art Canepa.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Hershall Shannon of Tahlequah, OK, Angela Walker and husband Brad of Tulsa, OK, and Christina Bowline and husband Trent of Hulbert, OK. She leaves her companion of 37 years, Thomas Mahanes, two brothers and three sisters, James Killingsworth and wife Victoria of Checotah, OK, Donald Killingsworth of Muskogee, OK, Helen Canepa of California, Hester Killingsworth and Marilyn "Rita" Killingsworth both of Checotah, OK. Pat lives on in her four grandchildren, Krista Bowlin, Cailee Bowlin, Jessie Favorite, and Danielle Floyd. She also leaves two great grandchildren, Roxy Favorite and Aydan Lucero, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
