Marie Williamson-Haddock was born on Sept. 11, 1913, in Missouri, the daughter of William and Renea (Horine) Arnold. She was raised with four brothers. She attended school, then she met and married the love of her life, Elijah E. Haddock. This union was blessed with five sons and three daughters: Edward, David, Larry, Daniel, Baby Boy, Anna, Jane, and Dora. Marie was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. During W.W.II, her husband enlisted in U.S. Army. Upon his return, they began a life of farming, working side by side. Theirs was a wonderful friendship that lasted until Elijah’s death in 1985. Marie never sat down, but busied herself with her garden, cooking wonderful meals for her family, and taking care of all those around her. She was always there to care for her grandchildren, teaching them all she had learned in her lifetime. She was a devout Christian and a member of the Faith Chapel church near Moodys. Her husband Elijah donated the land that faith chapel now stands on, and worked tirelessly for her junior-aged Sunday school class. She was Pentecostal Holiness in faith and read her Bible daily, meditating on the word of God and practicing the life lessons she read about in all her daily chores. She was kind, considerate of others, and possessed the smile that made you happy to be near her. After 101 years of faithful service to God, this wonderful woman was called home from her labors on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 in Tahlequah with her loved ones by her side. She will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, and all the people whom she has blessed with her many gifts. Marie is preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband, Elijah; two son, Daniel Wayne and Baby Boy; one daughter, Dora Steurer; four brothers, William Arnold, Benny Arnold, Joe Arnold, and Fred Arnold; two adored grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchildren. Marie is greatly missed and fondly remembered by her loving children, Edward and Phyllis Haddock of Tahlequah, David and Kathy Haddock of Tahlequah, Larry Haddock of Tahlequah, Anna Farar and husband Marvin of Garfield, Ark., Jane Graham and husband Kevin of Missouri; 13 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; three great-great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousin and a host of friends and loved over 101 years of a life well lived.
