Lois's Story

Funeral Services for Lois Reese, 76, of Tahlequah were 2:00 Wednesday June 21, 2017, at First Baptist Church Tahlequah. Serving as pallbearers were her grandchildren: Rhett, David, Reese, Brex, Braxton, Joshua, Blake, and McKenna. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Jon Willis, David Carey, Tim Baker, Veramin Davis, J.D. Carey, Craig Carey, Dr. Tom Been, Danny Reese, Dr. Leonard Wilkins, Frank Shurden, Justin Hackworth, Gary Davis, David Dick, Kevin Schur, and Jerrod Hood. Interment followed in the Tahlequah City Cemetery under the care of Green Country Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at tahlequahfuneral.com

Lois was born March 4, 1941, in Ponca City OK, the daughter of Leonard and Goldie (Liebel) Jestes.
She was a 1959 graduate of Blackwell High School where she was raised. She went to Northern Jr. College at Tonkawa where she was a cheerleader and a Mavette, graduating in 1961. As a Mavette at Northern Jr. College she was privileged to march in the 1960 Inaugural parade for JFK. She had worked at Union Oil in Tulsa from 1961-62.
She had met Jackie Reese and they were married on August 11, 1962. She then worked at the Jack Reese Insurance Agency until retirement in 2000. She was involved in supporting her daughters throughout their academic careers and sporting activities. She was an involved Cheerleader Mom at Tahlequah High School. She enjoyed Moms day at OSU-Kappa Delta weekend. Although it took her 2 weeks to pack she enjoyed convention trips with Jack each year. Lois loved the Lord and kept her daughters in church, always quoting scripture to solve problems in their lives. She served as a Sunday School Teacher for over 20 years, and was a past president of the Christain Womens Club where she was a member for more than 20 years.
Cherishing the memory of Lois are her husband of nearly 55 years, Jack, of the home; daughters and their husbands Renda Reese-Davis and husband Gary, and their children Rhett (Andrea) and son Rhylee, and Reese, Renita Dick and husband David, and their children David II and Joshua, Rhonda Schur and husband Kevin and their children Brex and Blake, and Robyn Hood and husband Jerrod, and their children Braxton and McKenna. In Lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations are encouraged to be made to Tahlequah Athletics, where Lois loved watching her children excel. Donations can be left at Jack Reese Insurance Agency, 110 Spring Street or Green Country Funeral Home, 203 S. commercial Rd, Tahlequah, OK.
