Funeral services for Leonard Stanley Brown are 2:00 pm, Monday, March 27, 2017, at Green Country Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Pastor Jesse Deere. Pallbearers are Don Greathouse, James Ghormley, Keith Barrick, Jack Kaler, Sam Kaler and Dennis Peterson. Honorary pallbearers are Dave Blue, Tony Boyle, Dan Garber, Jim Knight, David Moss and Ron Spears. Interment will follow in the Shirley Cemetery under the care of Green Country Funeral Home. Leonard Stanley (Lenn) Brown was born June 10, 1941, in Fairland, Oklahoma, to Knon Van and Ruth (Bly) Brown. He passed from this life on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 75 years, 9 months, and 11 days.
Leonard was baptized at Eldon Baptist Church. He honorably served in the United States Marine Corps from July 1959 to November 1959. He was employed at NSU for approximately 30 years in Food Service and the HVAC maintenance department.
Leonard enjoyed camping, hunting, fly fishing, tying flies and family genealogy. He was an exhibition fly tyer at events in Mountain Home, Arkansas; Bolivar, Missouri; and in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, for several years.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Marvin Lee Brown; sister, Lelah Dean Wolfe; and brother, Norman Van Brown.
Leonard leaves behind his wife, Linda (Ghormley) Brown of the home, who he married on December 18, 1987; one daughter, Amel Hopper of Kingsland, Arkansas; two sisters, Dorothy Anderson of Wichita, Kansas and Marjorie Bolinger of Park Hill, Oklahoma; a granddaughter, Jade Isaac; a grandson, Joseph Madden; two great grandchildren, Oliver Isaac and Hunter Isaac; as well as many cousins and loved ones, and will be missed by many.
