Surrounded by her loving family, Michelle went home to be with our Lord April 7, 2015, at the age of 52 years. Michelle was born May 2, 1962, in Tahlequah, to Leon and Etta Mae (Railey) Harper. Michelle graduated from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, May 1980, with national honors. She was a gifted pianist and vocalist. She loved children and taught Sunday school for many years. She was a member of 29 Eleven Church in Tahlequah. She loved boating on Lake Tenkiller, four-wheeling with her grandchildren, and spending time with family. She was a member of the Reba McEntyre fan club in Tulsa, with backstage privileges at Reba McEntyre concerts. Michelle married Mike McCartney March 4, 1979, and from this union was blessed with her only child, Shelly McCartney. After her divorce from Mike in May 2005, Michelle moved to Keys to be close to her parents and other family members. It was there she found love, joy, laughter and devotion when, on May 21, 2006, she married Joe Collins who cherished her and always made her feel special. Michelle was preceded in death by father and mother-in-law, Darwin “Bill” Collins and Mildred Collins; grandparents, Charlie Harper, Maggie (Patton) Harper, Hershel and Maggie (Raynor) Railey. Michelle leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband, Joe of the home; daughter, Shelly McCartney; step-daughters, Chelsey Collins, and Ryleah Collins; granddaughters, Ashley McCartney, and Alysan Hart; grandsons, Andrew McCartney, and Adrian Edwards; and great-granddaughter, Alayah Watson all of Tahlequah; parents, Leon and Etta Harper of Keys; brother, Michael Harper of Keys; sisters, Pamela Lollis of Keys, Paula Hood and husband Roy of Broken Arrow, and LaDonna Robertson and husband Bobby of Tahlequah; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other family members. Michelle, or “Blondie” as she was always lovingly referred to by Joe, was loved by all and will be truly missed. Her infectious smile and witty ways will always be remembered by family, but we can take solace in knowing she is with her first love, her Lord and Savior, pain-free from the cancer, rejoicing in heaven.
