PARK HILL – Graveside services for Julia Hayes, 79, of Tahlequah, were held 3 p.m., Monday, Dec. 14, 2015, at Park Hill Cemetery. Officiating was Mother Debora Jennings. Honorary pallbearers were Ruby Bartlett, Paralee Carlile, Lorene Rogers and Cecil Nottingham. Final arrangements were placed under the care of Green Country Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at tahlequahfuneral.com. Julia Juanita (Neen) Jackson Hayes was born June 23, 1936, in Park Hill, to Jasper Wesley (Eip) and Bonnie (Glenn) Jackson. She passed away in Tahlequah on Dec. 10, 2015. Julia was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Doyle Lee Jackson; and sisters, Lola Shores and Connie Sue Jackson. She is survived by her son, Larry Hayes and wife Nita; grandson, Wesley Hayes and Carla; granddaughter, Aimee Hayes; great-granddaughter, Chloe Hayes; two brothers, Lawford (Luke) Jackson and Bob Gene Jackson. Julia married Ara Hayes on Nov. 12, 1949. She and Ara worked the farm in their early years, raising cattle, milking cows and selling cream and eggs to Clark and Nolan Feed Store in Tahlequah. She worked various jobs and ran two successful businesses, Neen’s Cafe and Keys Laundromat, until her retirement in 1995. She was great cook and loved to bake pies. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchild. They were the light of her life, always asking about them and wanting to see them. She loved gardening, taking care of the yard and flowers, and canning fruit and vegetables for the family. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Cecil Nottingham, Lorene Rogers, and Bobby and Charlotte Jackson for their help given to Julia as well as her friends and staff at the Cherokee County Nursing Center.
