John lived in and around Tahlequah his whole life. He enjoyed rabbit hunting, fishing, watching OU football and cooking. His cooking was deep fried, and he loved making homemade biscuits. He loved his family and enjoyed family gatherings, but he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. John touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Carolyn Sue (Gibson) Kelley; his daughter Vicki Kelley; his brothers Artist Kelley, Kenneth Kelley and Wayne Kelley; his sister Ruth Kelley; and a grandson Larry Paul Blackman Jr.
He is survived by a loving family which includes his children Johnny Kelley and wife Denise of Tacoma, WA, Twila Kelley of Tacoma, WA, Kenneth Jay Blackman and wife Nish of Fresno, CA, Larry Bruiser Blackman and wife Annette of Stilwell, Carla Blackman of Tahlequah, and Mark Mongold of Tahlequah; his sisters Elsie Boster, Pearl Boster, Goldie Brown, Geneva Poor and husband Leonard all of Stilwell and Dorothy Moreland and husband Ron of Rose; 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive him.
The family would like to send heart-felt appreciation to Good Shepherd Hospice and all of their staff for such great care and attention to John in the time he was in their care.
