TAHLEQUAH – Funeral services for George Edward Walls, 56, of Hulbert, are Friday, Sept. 25, at 2 p.m. at Green Country Funeral Home. Officiating will be Brother Bobby Botts. Serving as pallbearers are David Mc Daniel, Dane Tannehill, Marlon Gordon, Pat Johnston, David Walkingstick and Martin Walls. Honorary pallbearers are Dean Kirkpatrick, Dean White, Teddy Ridenhour, Brady Gilliam and Rick Steeley. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery under the care of Green Country Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at tahlequahfuneral.com. George Edward Walls was born in Wagoner on March 11, 1959, to James Alfred and Alta Mae (Vaughn) Walls. He passed away on Sept. 22, 2015, in Tulsa. George was a 1977 graduate of Hulbert High School. He had worked at several jobs in Tahlequah before he began a career working for Cherokee County. On May 24, 1985, in Miami, Okla., George took Karen Oxendine to be his wife. He and Karen had shared over 30 years of marriage at the time of his passing. George was a member of the Cherokee County Masonic Lodge No. 10, and served on its mounted patrol. He enjoyed going fishing, and earlier, when able, he liked to go hunting and camping. George was preceded in death by his parents, James and Alta Walls. Those he leaves behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Karen of the home; three children, Samantha Collins and husband Ronny of Tahlequah, Paul Walls and wife, Kendra, of Tahlequah, and Neil Walls and fiancé, Leslie, of Berryhill; and six grandchildren, Tyler, Nicholas, Junior, Gracelyn, Paul and Ella.
