Gayle's Story

Text size

Gayle Mack Hall, 64, of Gladstone, MO, passed away February 23, 2017. She was surrounded by family and dear friends. Gayle was born Oct 1, 1952, to the late Bert and Betty Mack in Blair, OK. She was a proud graduate of the Oklahoma University followed by OU Physical Therapy. Boomer Sooner! She worked as a physical therapist in Oklahoma for years, including her early years in Tahlequah, before she became the manager of the PT department at North Kansas City Hospital. She was loved by all and was known for her strategic, sage advice and mentoring. Her co-workers at NKCH hospital were her extended family.
Her family and friends will always remember Gayle for her dry wit, kindness, intelligence, and strength. She passionately enjoyed many things in life, including reading, scuba diving, sailing, art, and her very fortunate cats. Gayle lived a spectacularly full, intellectually curious, always wise beyond her years life. To paraphrase Hamilton, she was truly the "best of sisters and best of women"!

She was survived by her sister Elaine Mack Dodd, niece Ashley and husband Sam Bassett, nephew Drew Dodd, several beloved cousins, and lifelong friends Pam Moore, Charlotte Winston, and Jamie Bone. She will also be missed by her book club, dear friends from Blair, and many other countless friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Alan Mack.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your local Humane Society, Harvesters Community Food, NorthCare Hospice, or your local homeless shelter.
As her dear friend assured us, "our friend walked on", strength and honor are her clothing.
Funeral services will be held March 25, 10 AM at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. A celebration of Gayle's life will be held following, Details updated at www.cashattfamilyfuneralhome.com/obituaries/.
