Eunice's Story

Funeral services for Eunice Clay Hallum will be held on Monday, September 26th, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Faith Holiness Church in Westville, OK with Brother Dennis Knapp, Brother Kevin Webster, and Wayne Bradford officiating. She will be laid to rest at Tahlequah City Cemetery. A visitation will be held for Eunice on Sunday, September 25th, 2016 from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Reed-Culver Funeral Home. Acting as pallbearers for Eunice include Tony Hallum II, David Hallum, Donnie Hallum, Monte Bradford, Cody Bohn, Daniel Remington, Cody Vaughn, Marty Vaughn, Kevin Baggs, JL Jones, James Jennings, David Morris, Dallas Mullin and, Randy Vaughn. Honorary Pallbearers include Wayne Bradford, Joe Wilhite, Rusty Galyean, and Jr Mathews.
Eunice Clay Hallum, age 69, finished her race and departed this world on Tuesday, September 20th, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on May 26th, 1947 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She served the Lord faithfully all of her life, and was a member of Faith Holiness Church in Westville, Oklahoma. From childhood and throughout her entire life, Eunice was unyielding and steadfast in her faith in God. Family, friends, and all who were privileged to know her, knew that there was no greater example of a faithful servant. She was known for her kindness, wisdom, and her gentle spirit. She led by example, and showed compassion for all. Many relied on her for advice and wisdom; and her guidance helped light the path for others to follow. Eunice was also a loving, faithful wife for over 50 years, and a wonderful loving mother and grandmother to three sons, one daughter-in law, and two granddaughters. Eunice served as a registered nurse for over 40 years. She was employed with Tahlequah City Hospital, Cherokee County Health Department, W.W. Hastings Hospital, and Carter Healthcare & Hospice respectively, and was known throughout the medical community as an excellent nurse who could be depended on and trusted without question.
Eunice was preceded in death by one son, Stephen Bradley Hallum, her parents, Houston (Dugan) and Violet Briggs, and one brother, Aaron Edward Briggs.
Eunice is survived by her husband of 50 years, Tony Hallum of the home in Tahlequah, OK, two sons; Tony and Misty Hallum of Tahlequah, and David Hallum of Norman, OK, two granddaughters; Katie and Sarah Hallum of Tahlequah, four sisters; Clydie Cato of Sallisaw, OK, Suelene Hudson of Stilwell, OK, Toney and Caroline Pritchett of Tahlequah, Donnie and Dretha Hallum of Tahlequah, one brother, Arnold Briggs of Tahlequah, sister-in law Myrtle Briggs of Tahlequah, several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
