TAHLEQUAH – Funeral services for Derwood Craig, 88, of Muskogee, Okla., are 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 11, at Southside Baptist Church Tahlequah. Officiating will be Pastor Jacob Jones. Pallbearers are Dale Craig, Laird Armstrong, Ron Craig, Mike Swindell, Jake Craig, and Tony Presley. Interment will follow in the Tahlequah City Cemetery under the care of Green Country Funeral Home. Derwood Craig, son of Fred and Myrtle (Sanders) Craig, was born on Sept. 3, 1927, in Christie, Okla. He was the sixth of seven Craig children. Derwood departed this life on Feb. 7, 2016, in Muskogee. On June 21, 1952, he married the love of his life, Mary Jo (Presley) Craig, in Huntsville, Ark. They were married for 63 wonderful years and had two sons, Bob and Brad Craig. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Myrtle Craig; brothers, Thurman, Louie, and Cecil; and his wife, Mary Jo Craig. He is survived by a loving family which includes his sons, Bob Craig and wife June of Owasso, and Brad Craig and Erin O’Quin of Inola; his foster daughter, Lana Martin of Norman; sisters, Geraldine McCaslin of Torrence, Calif., and Callie Walter of Phoenix, Ariz.; his brother, Kenneth Craig of Muskogee; four grandchildren, Amy Armstrong and husband Laird of Muskogee, Lyndsay Swindell and husband Mike of Owasso, Katie Arnold and Jamie Ortega of Pryor, and Jacob Craig and wife Jennifer also of Pryor; 12 great-grandchildren, Chase Armstrong, Morgan Hewitt, Avery Armstrong, Matthew Hewitt, Abigail Armstong, Presley Ann Swindell, Cooper John Swindell, Jagger Craig Swindell, Ayden Arnold, Ailey Arnold, Maddie Jo Craig, and Millie Craig; one great-great-grandchild on the way; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives also survive him.
