David William Kaufman was born on May 2, 1939, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, to William Drexel and Helen Mae (Lasater) Kaufman. He departed this life on April 11, 2017, at the age of 77.
David grew up on Goingsnake. He was a graduate of Northeastern State University where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. David was known as "Goose" and played basketball for the Redmen while earning his degree. After graduation David would follow his father in the accounting business.
David served as President of the Tahlequah School Board, and had owned the Shack and Southside Drive In. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #10, Bedoun Shriners in Muskogee, and a York Rite Mason.
David was preceded in death by his parents, William and Helen; and a daughter, Heather Kaufman.
He is survived by his three children, Perry Kaufman and wife Sara of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Debbie Kaufman of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Stephani Bayhylle and husband Brian of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; his sister, Diane Erickson and husband, John of Wimberly, Texas; and the mothers of his children Glovana Kaufman and Patty L. Kaufman; and many other friends.
