TAHLEQUAH – Anna Katherine Herrlein went to be with the Lord on May 29, 2015. Anna was born on Nov. 5, 1931 in Sanford, Fla., to Joe L. and Katherine S. Corley. She grew up in Sanford and graduated from Seminole High School, and later Crawford W. Long school of Nursing-Emory University, Atlanta, Ga., in 1952. Anna held various nursing positions at Cornell University Hospital; St. Joseph Hospital, Cheyenne, Wyo.; Florida State University; Florida Military School and College; American Red Cross, Sioux City, Iowa; and Health Occupations Instructor at W.P. (Bill) Willis Skill Center, Tahlequah. Anna was an active lifetime member in the Order of the Eastern Star. The Corley family was dedicated to Shriners’ activities. Anna was married to Donald E. Herrlein in Cheyenne, Wyo., in 1958. Anna and Donald moved to Tahlequah in 1965 where he was employed as faculty member at Northeastern State University. Anna is preceded in death by her parents, Joe L. and Katherine S. Corley; brother, Joseph “Buddy” Corley; sister, Irma Jeans Fields; brother-in-law, Kenneth Q. Fields; and nephew, Kenneth “Beau” Fields. Anna is survived by her husband of 57 years, Dr. Donald Herrlein; son, Jake Herrlein; daughter, Kelli Herrlein Brotherton and her husband Devan Brotherton; and daughter-in-law, Ima J. Matlock of Tahlequah. Grandchildren are A. J. Herrlein, Dena Herrlein, B. J. Herrlein, Anna Brotherton, Raya Brotherton and Kyra Brotherton. Other survivors include two brother-in-laws and their wives, Ray and Donna Herrlein of Brilliant, Ohio, and Jay and Barbara Herrlein of St. Clairsville, Ohio; two sister-in-laws, Shirley Zeroski of Mt. Pleasant, Ohio and Kathleen Corley of Sanford, Fla.; six nieces and eight nephews. Funeral services will be held at Green Country Funeral Home, Tahlequah, on Saturday, June 6, at 2 p.m. Viewing hours will be 10 a.m.–7 p.m. Thursday, June 4, and Friday, June 5. Interment will follow the funeral services and will be held at Tahlequah City Cemetery. Dr. Tom Cottrill will officiate both services.
