TAHLEQUAH – Graveside services for Troy Otto Ford, 91, of Hulbert, Okla., are 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015, at the Tahlequah City Cemetery. Officiating will be the Minister Rob Brust of Northside Christian Church, Broken Arrow. Honorary pallbearers are Perry Proctor, Roger Graham, Rhonda Combs-Hansen, Dower Combs, Bryan Graham, and Derrick Graham. Funeral arrangements have been placed under the care of Green Country Funeral Home. A good, honest man and a great dad has passed away. Troy was born in Moodys, Okla., to Albert and Cora (Antney) Ford. He departed this life on Dec. 20, 2015, while in the Claremore VA Hospital. He lived in Cherokee County most of his growing up years. In 1936, he and his family moved to California, living in tents, traveling from campground to campground, picking peaches and tomatoes. Like so many other families, they returned to Oklahoma and, at age 17, Troy enlisted in the Civilian Conservation Corps and was stationed in Shoshone, Wyo. He did this to help his dad pay for a team of mules.
