GROVE – Shandra (Shandy) Teal Johnson, age 39, of Tahlequah, Okla., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Dec. 21, 2015, after a sudden illness. Shandy was born Aug. 28, 1976, to Rick and Linda (Gray) Teal in Miami, Okla. She graduated Grove High School in 1994 and, after completing college at NEO, she worked at a few area nursing homes and hospitals and as a labor and delivery nurse at Integris Grove Hospital for many years. She married Robert Johnson on March 2, 2007, and soon returned to school and completed her master’s in nursing in 2014 so she could pursue her dream career as a nurse midwife. She started at NeoHealth OB/Gyn in Tahlequah as a midwife in February 2015 where she loved delivering babies and taking care of her patients. Her loving and giving spirit will be missed by many friends, family, coworkers, and patients whose lives she brightened. Shandy is preceded in death by her grandma, Joy and grandpa, Dick Teal; and grandpa, Gray. She leaves behind a loving family including her husband, Robert; sons, Mason and Parker; and daughter, Carly; brother, Ryan and wife Becca of Vinita; father, Rick and wife Pam of Grove; mother, Linda of Joplin, Mo.; grandma, Hackey of Miami; step-daughters, Jona and Sharon; step-son, Kenneth and wife Rachel; nine grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews and other friends, coworkers, and loved ones. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Jan. 16, 2016, at the Lake Center Baptist Church on Monkey Island in Grove, Okla. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to a memorial fund at www.youcaring.com/shandra-johnson-485192 to help the family with expenses, or to Clarehouse, www.clarehouse.org or 918-893-6150, in memory of Shandy Johnson to help them provide amazing end-of-life services to others free of charge as they did for us. A special thanks to Shandy’s current and former coworkers, little Internet friends, family and many other friends that have helped in many ways and are praying for the Johnson family.
