TAHLEQUAH – Sandra Nadine Clark-Adkisson was born May 30, 1941. She passed on May 30, 2015, at the age of 74. Sandra was lifelong Cherokee County resident, living near Woodall in Parks Hollow from January 1958 till her recent passing. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mettie Alice Julian-Clark; brother, Paul; and sister, Carolyn Fay Clark-McKerrow. “Shorty” to all that knew her, she never met a stranger, and was always ready with a smile and helping hand. Loving music, she amassed a large collection of LPs and tapes. She was Elvis Presley’s No. 1 fan, and was overjoyed to visit Graceland and Sun Records in Memphis, Tenn. Shorty worked at Ozark Nursery, Food 4 Less, and several convenience stores in the area. She was married to Donald Jasper Adkisson for 32 years when he passed unexpectedly. She met and co-habited with Cliff Cunningham in a close relationship for 20 years until his passing after a short illness. A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 21, from 2-4 p.m. at the Tahlequah Senior Citizens Center, 230 E. First St.
