She grew up in the Tahlequah area in a household with two sisters and one brother, Mary Lou, Benny Ray and Donna Mae. She was a graduate of Bagley High School in Tahlequah determined to have a career as an educator. On June 3rd, 1950, she married Aron Winston Dotson, the father of her children. This union was blessed with three children Michael, David and Debbie. She worked as a dietician, librarian and finally the Food Service Director in Stigler and Miami, OK. Ruth Ayne was never one to sit idly by. She belonged to the study clubs ESA and New Century. She gave freely of her time and talents to charitable work such as Remarkables and Meals On Wheels. She could be found writing in her journal or composing poetry, painting or doing sketches. She was an avid flower gardener and loved to relax by her fish pond, or work in the rocks that adorned her yard. She was an avid reader and immersed herself in many facets of life from the stock market to the history of the Kennedy family, and of course reading poetry. Ruth Ayne was a gentle woman, intelligent and kind, understanding of heart and a true friend to many. There was nothing on this earth that meant more to Ruth Ayne than her family. She supported and held each child, grandchild and family member up in prayer. She later married Wesley Miller, and they enjoyed doing activities together until Wesleys passing. Ruth Aynes relationship with her Lord and Savior were her first thought of the day and her last prayer at night. She was a Baptist by faith and a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Tahlequah. She read from her Bible often and never tired of her new discoveries of verse and promise. For all she did and continued to do every day to help others, she grew tired. The Lord called this good and faithful servant home from her labors on Friday, August 18th, 2017 in Tulsa, OK with her loved ones by her side. She was 86 years old. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
