TAHLEQUAH – Traditional funeral services for Ronald Lee Sherron will be held Tuesday, July 7, at 2 p.m. at Green Country Funeral Home Chapel in Tahlequah, Okla. Officiating will be Chaplain Kevin Webster, Honorary pallbearers are Sam Horton, Charles Laine, Dr. Hope Baluh, Dr. Sharon James-Schmidt, Mark Sherron, Donnie Heidlage, Michael B. Naden, Justin Thompson, and James “Buster” Bowhay. Ronald Lee Sherron passed away at his home in Tahlequah, Okla., on July 4, 2015, with his wife and family at bhis side. He was born May 14, 1949, in Ponca City, Okla., the son of Kenneth Carl and Edna Gladys (Rutherford) Sherron. After graduating from Ponca City High School in 1967, he attended Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa, Okla., and graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing in 1969. Ron then attended The University Of Oklahoma, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing in 1971. After graduation from OU, Ron joined the U.S. Army and served as a nurse while stationed in Fort Riley, Kan.; Seoul, South Korea; and Fort Sill, Okla., from 1972-1976. Ron joined the U.S. Public Health Service in 1976, and served in the capacity of nurse until graduating from the USPHS Hospital School of Anesthesia in Staten Island, N.Y., in 1981, at which time he became a certified registered nurse anesthetist. He served the USPHS as a CRNA until his separation as a captain in 2006 after 30 years of total military service. After a very brief retirement, Ron returned to work at W.W. Hastings Hospital as an employee of Cherokee Nation, and worked there until his recent retirement. Ron had a love of collecting cars, “oldies” music, Christmas music in July and his grandchildren, all of which brought him a great deal of joy in their own ways. Ron was greeted in heaven by his mother and father; brother, Jimmie, and sister Louise Heidlage. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Beulah (Williams) Sherron of Tahlequah; son Randal and wife Angela of Tahlequah; their three children, Emma, Madison and Harrison; son Chris and wife Chastity of Springdale, Ark.; their two children, Mackenzie and Molly; son Ronald Aric and fianceé Kristen Tsosie of Phoenix, Ariz.; their son, Parrish; daughter Christina of Tahlequah and son Chaz Lee. Also preceding brother Kenny and wife Joyce of Ponca City, and brother Lonnie Ray and wife JoAnn of Ponca City; several cousins, nieces and nephews, and many beloved and cherished friends.
