Funeral services for Robert Dean Gifford are 1:00 pm Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Green Country Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Reverend’s Audie Vaughn and Navil Vaughn. Pallbearers are Justin Gifford, Bill Gifford, Bill Gifford Jr., JJ Taylor, Mark Hitchcock, Raymond Reed, James Wade, and Scottie Rogers. Honorary pallbearers are Darrell Gifford, Don Gifford, Dewayne Gifford, and Terry Gifford. Interment will be in the Kansas Cemetery under the care of Green Country Funeral Home.

Robert Dean Gifford was born May 18, 1955, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Hershel Gifford and Anna (Bailey) Gifford. He departed this life on March 28, 2016, from his home in Oaks, Oklahoma surrounded by his family at the age of 60.

Robert was raised in the Westville area where he attended school. After completing school Robert married Susie Rogers on March 25, 1974 in Pryor, Oklahoma. They had just celebrated their forty second anniversary at the time of his passing.

Robert loved his career as a truck driver for R and L Transport, carrying pole barn buildings on the long haul over many states.

He enjoyed hunting and loved spending time with his grandchildren and going fishing with them.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Hershel and Anna (Bailey) Gifford; and his brother Hollis Gifford.

He is survived by is wife Susie of the home; two children, Melissa Gifford of Salina, Oklahoma and Carrie Larrabee and husband (Scott) of Leach; three grandchildren, Lucky Larrabee, Spencer Larrabee, and Mason Dean Hitchcock; his siblings, Darrell and wife Janet, Terry and wife Iris, Don and wife Rovita, Kenny, Bonita, Sheila and husband James, Helen and husband Larry, and Dewayne and wife Mary Lou; and many extended family members, and friends.
