TAHLEQUAH – Perry Lee Collins of Tahlequah passed away Sunday, July 26, 2015, at the age of 51. He was born March 7, 1964, in Tahlequah, the son of Broxer Collins Jr. He was raised by his beloved grandmother, Pearl (Ryder) Collins. He grew up in the community of Woodall and attended town school and graduated from Tahlequah High School in 1982. After high school, Perry went to work for Midwestern Nursery and worked there for 10 years. He worked until his disabilities would no longer let him continue. Perry loved gardening, fishing, bowling, stock car races, and OU football. Of course, most of all, he loved his family. Perry was a sweet, thoughtful, and gentle soul who appreciated all the little blessings and everyday kindnesses shown him. Perry was forgiving of others’ struggles and flaws – more so than most of us. When he was diagnosed with cancer, he displayed great hope and courage, and he managed to find the joy in every day. Perry was a member of Crescent Valley Baptist Church and, as a boy, he accepted Christ. He is now fishing that crystal lake in the sky, and that’s no fish story. Perry is preceded in death by his grandmother, Pearl (Ryder) Collins.
