TAHLEQUAH – Funeral services for Lottie Clay will be held at Green Country Funeral Home on Monday, Feb. 8, at 10 a.m. Family will be gathering after services at Welling General Baptist Church Activity Center. Lottie Lee Clay Was born on March 4, 1925, to Robert Lee and Viola Cole (Green) in Etta, Okla. Lottie was married on April 21, 1943, to William Floyd Clay. Together they were blessed with three children: Mary Lillian, Garland Dale and Billie Kay. Lottie and William (Bill) were members of the Welling General Baptist Church in Welling, Okla. Lottie and William owned and operated a family dairy on their farm in Welling. Lottie also worked at Carnation in Tulsa, Okla., and the sewing factory in Tahlequah. Lottie loved to cook and spend time with her family. She loved her garden and enjoyed canning. Lottie always made sure everyone had food and had enough to eat. Lottie and Bill took care of many children during their lifetime – family and non-family. In 1977, she fell in the dairy barn and sustained injuries, and has been in consistent pain the majority of her life. She always kept a smile on her face and never complained; always putting others ahead of herself. Her love and compassion for her family always shined. Lottie is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Bill Clay; son, Garland Dale Clay; parents, Robert and Viola Green; brothers, Virgil and Don Green; and sister, Johnnie Mae Dennis. Lottie is survived by daughters, Mary Campbell and husband Ernie Campbell of Stilwell, Okla., and Billie Dillard and husband Neal Dillard of Welling; sisters, Julia Clay of Welling, and Callie Farrell of Tahlequah; grandchildren, Neal Dillard and wife Lindsey of Tahlequah, Deanna Lowrey and husband Roy Lowrey Jr. of Welling, Kenneth Kirk and wife Lucretia of Tahlequah, Keith Kirk and wife Stephanie of Hulbert, Lessia Kirk and Tim Jessie of Tahlequah, Paul Campbell of Stilwell, Janet Butler and husband Chris of Stilwell, Johnathan Clay and wife Cassandra of Owasso, Butch Clay and Amy of Tulsa, Stephanie Cooper and husband Ray of Inola, and Katie Clay of Los Angeles, Calif.; 20 great-grandkids; nine great-great-grandkids; and numerous friends and relatives.
