TAHLEQUAH – Funeral services for Larry Dale Sparks are 10 a.m., Thursday, April 9, at Green Country Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Rocky Dickinson. Pallbearers will be James Garrett, Darryl Sparks, Don Meigs, George Dobson, Mark Dobson, and Aaron Gower. Interment will follow in the Price Cemetery under the care of Green Country Funeral Home. Larry Dale Sparks was born in Tahlequah on July 10, 1974, to Larry Dale Sparks Sr. and Terrie (Miller) Matthewson. He passed away at his home in Oologah on April 5, 2015, at the age of 40. Larry grew up in Woodall where he attended school and was a 1992 graduate of Tahlequah High School. Larry had many activities he enjoyed, such as being in the outdoors, fishing, gardening vegetables, caring for animals, raising game chickens, but at the top of his list he enjoyed spending time with his family. Larry was preceded in death by his father, Larry Sparks Sr.; grandmothers, Judith Nichols, and Imogene (Ballard) Sparks; grandfather, Russell Sparks; an aunt, Lori Rott; and his niece, Ragean. He is survived by his mother, Terrie Matthewson and husband David, of Oologah; stepdad, Buddy Harris of Welling; son, Tristian Sparks and fiancé Ashley Campbell of the home; daughters, Janessa Raith, and Baliegh Raith of Rose; sisters, Shawnna Thurman and husband Brian of Oologah, and Ashley Gower and husband Aaron of Tahlequah; three step-sisters, Carla Callaway, Jennifer Wright, and Emmylou Harris all of Tahlequah; stepbrother, Brian Harris; two uncles, James Garrett and Darryl Spahr, both of Tahlequah; his aunt, Susie Brown and husband David of Tulsa; six nieces, Rachelle Bailey, Ashton Meigs, Morgan Meigs, Jaycee Thurman, Kallie Garrett and Jamie Garrett; two nephews, Darryn Spahr and Nate Callaway; as well as many extended family members, friends, and loved ones. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Larry’s name to the Brain Cancer Society at the Tulsa Cancer Society. Green Country Funeral Home, 203 S. Commercial Road, 918-458-5055.
