OKMULGEE – Katherine Lucille Ellis was born Aug. 17, 1922, in Waterproof, La., to Charles Sebastian Krafft and Elma Lucille Bourgeois. She passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015. Katherine married Donald Hatley Ellis in Henryetta on Oct. 30, 1946. Katherine was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Altar Society of St. Anthony Catholic Church, and Business and Professional Women’s Club in Okmulgee. Her hobbies were crappie fishing, playing the piano, and church bingo. Katherine enjoyed teaching piano and accordion lessons. Most of all, Katherine loved being the organist for St. Anthony. Katherine is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Charles Krafft, Jim Krafft, and Joseph Krafft; and sisters, Theresa Krafft and Helen March. Left to cherish Katherine’s memory are her children, daughters, Jeanne Martin and husband Steve of Owasso, Donna Trewitt and husband Michael of Ponca City, Cathe Cleveland and husband Dr. Paul of Birmingham, Ala.; sons, Bill Ellis and wife Sue of Longmont, Colo., and Mark Ellis of Montfort-Sur-Meu, France; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Elma Babkiewich; and brothers George Krafft and Johnny Krafft. A funeral mass for Katherine will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 8, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, with Rev. Joshua E. Litwack officiating. Interment will follow at the Okmulgee Cemetery. Friends may visit the funeral home on Monday, Sept. 7, 2–7 p.m., with the family receiving guests at 6 p.m. A Rosary will be held on Monday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
