Funeral services for Johnny Ray Blankenship are 10:00 am, Monday July10, 2017, at Green Country Funeral Home. Officiating will be Reverend Matt Lawrence. Serving as pallbearers are Chad Blankenship, Brent Box, Braden Box, Mike Elkins, Shilo Shores and Richard Wagoner. Honorary pallbearers are Nick Humphrey, Dylan Humphrey and Chayne Sauders. Interment will follow in the
Cookson Proctor Cemetery under the care of Green Country Funeral Home.
Johnny Ray Blankenship was born in Dimmitt, Texas to Albert Ray and Lou Juanita (Parker) Blankenship. He passed away on July 3, 2017, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 54 years 9 months and 15 days.
Johnny was a graduate of Altus High School. He went on to attend and play baseball at Western Oklahoma State College, Southwestern State University and Oklahoma State University.
While attending college he married Michelle Stubblefield. They began their family and went on to have three children Rachel, Cassie, and Tyler. They moved to the Tenkiller area in 1988 and Johnny worked at Hopkins / Yates dealership.
He eventually opened and operated Keys Automotive Service for eight years.
He was and automotive service technician instructor at ICTC for seventeen years, retiring in 2015.
Johnny enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, boating, sports and family time. His friends and family enjoyed all these activities along with him.
Johnny has been preceded in death by his father Albert Ray Blankenship.
He is survived by his three children, Rachel Blankenship, Cassie Shores and husband Shiloh, and Tyler Blankenship all of Park Hill, Oklahoma; his mother, Juanita Blankenship of Altus, Oklahoma; three sisters, Glenda Wagoner, Judy Box and husband Brent, and Sonya Elkins and husband Mike; the mother of his children, Michelle Foster; and many other friends and loved ones to numerous to mention.
