Jo Ann Hudgens, known to many as Granny Jo, of Welling, passed away on April 7, 2019, at home. Jo Ann was born on August 1, 1940 in Canadian, Oklahoma. On December 8, 1959 she married Thomas (Tom) Presley Hudgens in Welling, Oklahoma. They lived in many towns and communities in Oklahoma, California, Texas and Arkansas before settling on the family farm in Welling. Jo Ann had a big heart and made everyone feel like family.

Jo Ann had boundless love for all her grandchildren. When she knew Ara was coming for a visit she would always have fresh blueberries waiting for her. When she was spending time with Slater and Raelynn her favorite thing was to carry them around while visiting with family. She was always eager to get new pictures of all her grandchildren and spent time with them as often as she could.

She was preceded in death by her parents John Wesley McBride and Ruby May (Anderson) McBride, her adoptive parents James and Irene Watkins, her grandson Grant Thomas Hudgens and her brother Jesse McBride and sister Mary Lou Perry.

Left to cherish Jo Ann's memory are her husband Tom; her sons, Russell Douglas Hudgens and wife Sandra of Tahlequah and Thomas Andrew (Andy) Hudgens and wife Suzanne of Welling. Granny Jo is also survived by grandchildren, Jeffery Douglas Hudgens of Tahlequah, Tiphanie Sue Hudgens and fiancé Kevin Polak of Tahlequah, Mallory Adeene Hudgens and Brian Beaman of Tahlequah, Tiffany Marie Rarick and husband Kyle of Tulsa, sisters Billie Davis and husband Veraman, and Barbara Deckard, brother John McBride and wife Connie, as well as countless family and friends.
