Funeral services for Jimmie Darrell Kelley are 2:00 pm, Saturday August 19, 2017, at the Exciting Southeast Baptist Church. Officiating will be Reverend Rob Pierce. Pallbearers are Larry Ray Rogers, Kevin Wright, Brett Kelley, Christopher Hardin, Jarrett Travis, Scott Kelley, and Franklin Strong. Honorary pallbearers are Marty Thompson, Jason Travis, John T. Burns, Josh Burns, Jared Burns and Dylan VanNoy. Interment will follow in the Moodys Cemetery under the care of Green Country Funeral Home.

Jimmie Kelley was born August 24, 1945, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Roscoe Vernon (Red) and Gladys Lucille (Lingle) Kelley. He passed away on August 16, 2017, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 71.

Jimmie attended Lincoln Elementary School and Drumright High School. He dropped out of school his senior year to join the United States Air Force where he served four years and was honorably discharged in 1966.

Jimmie married the love of his life, Debra Kay Fritts on January 11, 1975 in Miami, Oklahoma.

He worked several different occupations which included building chicken houses, doing maintenance at NSU, working at the Farmers Coop, and finishing his work career at the Cherokee Nation Housing Authority after 24 years of service with them, retiring January 30, 2009.

Jimmie was an avid outdoors man loving to hunt and fish. He also enjoyed riding horses with his daughter and raising cattle, but his greatest joy came when he was spending time with his grandchildren.

Jimmie is preceded in death by his wife, Debbie; father Red; mother Lucille; his brother, Tommy; sister, Carolyn; and grandsons, Jayme Lee and Bobby Lynn.

He leaves behind his daughter Debbie Travis and husband Jeff of Tahlequah; and sons, John Burns of Sour Lake, Texas, and Darin Allen of Owasso, Oklahoma; his sister, Shirley Wright and husband Ronald of Drumright, Oklahoma; two brothers, Dallas Kelley and wife Judy of Sand Springs, Oklahoma and Donnie Kelley of Drumright, Oklahoma; thirteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and best friend Larry Ray Rogers. Jimmie also leaves a host of other extended family members and friends to numerous to mention.
