Janice Dunham-Waddle, or Jan to her friends, was born on March 25th, 1953 in Tahlequah, OK, the daughter of Hubert and Betty (McGowan) Dunham. She graduated from Tahlequah High School and continued her education earning her Nursing degree from Bacone College. While she was in school, she had a best friend and companion, Robert “Bob” Waddle. This friendship blossomed into love and they were wed on July 12th, 1971 in Tahlequah, OK. This union was blessed with a lot of love and laughter, forty-four years of shared experiences, and two children, Rob and Brandie. Jan was a homemaker, who loved making a home for Bob and the kids. They devoted their love of business into rental property and storage facilities, all family owned and operated. She loved to ride horses, and was happiest when out doors breathing the fresh air, camping with her family and enjoying life. She liked to listen to Elvis and Garth Brooks, and life in the country on a farm. She enjoyed Shriners Womens Club, Shriner Outings, and Car Cruise Inns. A little time out shopping or getting her nails done was always a special treat. She enjoyed any time spent with those she loved the most, sharing a holiday, a special meal or just a little time together. She was a devoted wife, mother, and the grandmother with the best grandchildren on the planet!! She had a special place in her heart for Lacee, Payton, Baileigh, Gracee, Kade, Nolan, and Charles. Any activity that involved them was sure to find Nanny there, watching over her babies! She had a wide array of “Momisms’ and she would use them frequently to get her point of view across, and we have listed a few of them here! “Focus on you, Everyone else is Taken”, Sometimes you open your mouth and your Mom will come out”, and Normal is a setting on the dryer”.
She loved life to the fullest, and would have stayed to enjoy more, but her health began to fail her. She passed from this life on March 1st, 2016 in Tulsa, OK with her family close at her side. She was 62 years young. She will be greatly missed but remembered for generations to come.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Bob of the home in Tahlequah, OK, her daughter, Brandie Walker and husband Argus in Park Hill, OK, her son, Rob waddle and his wife of the home in Park Hill, OK, and her sister, Brenda Hogner of Tahlequah, OK. She leaves a legacy in life and love in her seven grandchildren, Lace, Payton, Baileigh, Gracee, Kade, Nolan, Charles and great grandson, Draigen Fielden, as well as many cousins, aunts, uncles, and a host of friends, acquaintances, and more friends than she will ever know.
