James Thomas Monholland, or Jim to his family and friends, was born on March 14th, 1953, in Tahlequah, OK, the son of Louie and Esther (Lawley) Monholland. He grew up in a family with two sisters, Sharon and Denise. He attended school and graduated from Berryhill High School. He earned his living as a truck driver in the transportation industry. When he wasn’t working, Jim liked to spend time in the outdoors, hunting deer and fishing. He collected coins and silver, and was known to enjoy an evening playing rummy with his family. Every fall found him supporting his favorite team, the OU Sooners. Jim was a family man first and foremost. He thought his children and grandchildren were the best ever! He loved the holidays when he could gather with his entire family and spend the day eating dinner and talking the day away. He was kind and considerate, always looking out for everyone else. If you needed him, he would be there. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren playing in the yard and all those he loved around him. The Lord called this good and faithful servant home from his labors on April 24th, 2016 in Owasso, Ok. He was 63 years old. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
Jim is preceded in death by his father, Louie and his grandparents.
Those left to cherish his memory include his four sons, James Monholland Jr. and wife Patricia of Westminster, CA, Casey Monholland of Skiatook, OK, Billy Monholland and wife Bridget of Skiatook, OK, and Joshua Monholland of Inola, OK. He leaves his mother, Esther Monholland of Tahlequah, and his two sisters, Sharon Reeves of Tahlequah, OK and Denise Holt and husband Bob of Sand Springs, OK. His love of life lives on in his five adored grandchildren, Keara Monholland, Katie Monholland, Jillian Monholland, Molli Monholland, and Emerson Monholland as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
