TAHLEQUAH – Hiawatha Lucille Tudor, age 72, of Tahlequah, Okla., passed from this life on Jan. 30, 2016, in Tulsa, Okla., surrounded by her family. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 9–11 a.m. at Reed Culver Chapel with a service beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Row Cemetery in Colcord, Okla. Hiawatha began her life’s journey on June 12, 1943, in Jay, Okla., the daughter of Henry Lester and Josie Maxine (January) Tuder. She was a movie buff and an avid reader. Although she could not stand to touch a fish, she loved to catch one. Hiawatha enjoyed playing cards and was serious about winning. She loved to laugh. Hiawatha collected T-shirts, most notably Hard Rock shirts which were later made into a quilt for her. In the 70s, she drove a white Firebird and would play “Freebird” and try to make it to work before the song ended. Among the many things her family shares about her was her love for her mom and dad. She spent countless hours taking care of her mother while being dedicated to her job, making many trips between Jay and Tahlequah. The pride and joy of her life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved and cherished more than they can understand. She will be dearly missed by all that had the chance to know her. She is preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Leonard Tudor. Those left to remember her life’s journey include her son, Trent Stogsdill and wife Melissa of Tahlequah; and three daughters, Robin Lacy and husband Stuart of Tulsa, Elaine Stogsdill of Tahlequah, and Jennifer Raymond and husband Bryan of McKinney, Texas. Hiawatha’s legacy will live on in her six grandchildren, Kyle Watkins, Krista Hernandez, Jonathan Stogsdill, Rebecca Stogsdill, Katie Stogsdill, Landry Raymond; and five great-grandchildren, Charlotte Watkins, Conrad Watkins, Oliver Hernandez, Stella Hernandez and Benjamin Stogsdill. Reed-Culver Funeral Home, 117 W. Delaware, 918-456-2551.
