TAHLEQUAH – Memorial services for Glenda M. Alston will be held on Tuesday, June 23, at 2 p.m. at Reed-Culver Chapel. Glenda Alston was born on Oct. 31, 1950, in Tahlequah, the daughter of Jeff Davis and Winnie (Dotson) Morrell. Upon graduating from high school, she went to Indian Capital Vo-Tech to obtain her degree in nursing as a LPN. She loved caring for the patients entrusted to her care and was an exemplary nurse. Glenda married Gary Taylor in 1968 at the Boudinot Church near Welling. Together they raised two children, Gilbert and Tammy. She watched their accomplishments with a great deal of pride. Her hobbies included gardening, and traveling the countryside. She had a very free spirit, greeted everyone with a smile, and hugged with everything in her being. She passed from this life on June 16, 2015, at Tahlequah. She was 64 years old. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten. She is preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Edward Rucker. Her memory will be cherished by her son, “Gib” Taylor and wife Christy of Tahlequah and their daughters, Jamie Johnson and Sarah Taylor, both of Tahlequah. Her daughter is Tammy Taylor-Josey of Tahlequah and companion Chad Richardson of Wagoner. Tammy’s children include daughter, Abbye Buckmaster and fiancé Devin Rowan of Muskogee; and Erielle Stout and husband Daniel of Tahlequah and their sons, Sawyer Stout and soon-to-be born Owen Stout, due August 2015. She has one brother, Jim Morrell and wife Earlene of Tahlequah and their sons, Sean Morrell, Jeremy Morrell, and Jory Morrell, along with their spouses and children. She leaves one sister, Mary Sue McCall and husband Charles of Tahlequah; as well as a host of friends and loved ones. Hart Funeral Home, 1506 N. Grand, 918-456-8823.
