Edward was a carpenter by trade and he loved what he did. He enjoyed building things and working with wood. He loved taking the grandkids fishing and he enjoyed spending time with his family. Edward was a good father and grandfather and he loved his family very much. He also tried to be a father figure to kids who needed help, he had a big heart and tried to help in any way that he could. Edward enjoyed sitting down relaxing with a cup of coffee and a bag of Cheetos. He touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife and mother of his children Marie (Sasser) Self; his second wife Mary (Geisler) Self; his daughters Shirley Diane Lightfoot and Denise Lynn Bauman; four brothers and four sisters.
