Graveside services for Donald Lee Perry, 77 of Hulbert, Oklahoma, are 10:00 am, Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at Fort Gibson National Cemetery. Officiating is Reverend David Jones. Honorary pallbearers are Cole Richards, Brandon Evans, Austin Ribbe, Troy Perry, James Perry, Danny Perry, Dewayne Perry, Joseph Perry, Dustin Mann and Daniel Fuller. Donald Lee Perry was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Carl Lee and Christine (Nichols) Perry on June 22, 1939. He passed away at his residence on September 18, 2016.
Donald was raised in the Muskogee, Fort Gibson area. He enlisted in the US Navy in October of 1956 and served on the Aircraft Carrier Ticonderoga. He was discharged in 1958, and served in the reserves until 1962. He married Leota Mathews in October of 1958. They were blessed with two children, Donda Renee and Kenneth Wayne.
Donald worked for the Carnation Milk Company in Muskogee before moving to Tulsa where he went to work for Mid Continent Trucking. He transferred to Lebanon, Missouri with Yellow Transit. Donald and his family would move back to Tulsa where he went to work as a salesman for Fred Jones Ford. Donald would establish Perry Truck and Equipment in 1989, buying and selling over the road trucks and equipment.
Donald was preceded in death by his first wife, Leota (Mathews) Perry; brothers, Billy Eugene Perry, Joseph Allen Perry, and Carl Steven Perry; parents, Carl Lee and Christine Perry.
He leaves behind his wife, Janet of the home; sister, Judy Mann and husband Roger of Haskell, Oklahoma; his daughter, Donda Richards and husband David of Chouteau, Oklahoma; his son, Wayne Perry and wife Nancy of Madison, Mississippi; step-son, Dr. Jason Sims of Tulsa, Oklahoma; grandsons, Brandon Evans and wife Amber of Wheeling, West Virginia, Cole Richards and wife Christine of McKinney, Texas and Austin Ribbe of Eufaula, Oklahoma; great grandsons, Brian Evans of Wheeling, West Virginia, Reed and Aaron Smith, and Walker McMullen all of Madison, Mississippi, and Gabriel Sims of Tulsa, Oklahoma; granddaughters, Dr. Jena (Perry) Smith and husband Dr. Brock Smith, Lindsey (Perry) McMullen and husband Tolliver, all of Madison, Mississippi, Dr. Adrienne Richards of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Sheridan Evans of Wheeling, West Virginia, and Eleanor Sims of Norman, Oklahoma; sisters-in-law, Treva Perry and Rebecca Perry both of Muskogee, Oklahoma, and Kay Perry of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and many other friends and loved ones.
