TAHLEQUAH – Funeral Services for Dewey Stanley Ballard, 63, of Park Hill, Okla., are 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 19, at Green Country Funeral Home. Officiating will be Bobby Musgrove Jr. Those serving as pallbearers are Rick Kimble, Rick Walker, Terry Vestal, Gage Brodine, Stephen Wood, and T.J. Girdner. Honorary pallbearers are Beau Ballard, John Steven Walls, Steve Denton, Paul Phillips, Gavyn Phillips, and Ronnie Brannon. Interment will follow under the care of Green Country Funeral Home. Dewey Ballard was born Aug. 27, 1952, in Tahlequah, Okla., to George William and Lila Maxine (Terrell) Ballard. He passed away in Tahlequah, on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016. Dewey attended grade school at White Oak and was a 1970 graduate of Tahlequah High School. Following graduation he began working as a truck driver delivering concrete. In the early 1990s Dewey began delivering bulk goods as an over-the-road trucker. In 2004, he began working for Arkhola as its plant manager. Dewey got much enjoyment playing the role of Santa for the students at Keys Schools. He loved to hunt and fish and also enjoyed taking road trips and casino hopping. Dewey was preceded in death by his father, George Ballard; and both maternal and paternal grandparents. He is survived by his mother, Maxine Justus of Park Hill; his wife, Melody of the home; a son, Jake Ballard of Park Hill; and daughter, Elizabeth Anderson also of Park Hill; six grandchildren, Gage and (Rheanna), Lilly, Mary, Georgia, Nathanial, and Samual; two brothers, Steven and Denise Ballard, and Mike and Melanee Ballard; as well as a host of friends and loved ones too numerous to mention.
