Funeral services for Dennis Brent Coldwell will be held on Friday, December 1st, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Elm Tree Baptist Church with a visitation scheduled for Thursday, November 30th, 2017 at Reed-Culver Chapel from noon until 6:00 PM. Pallbearers include Brandon Coldwell, Wayne Coldwell, Gabe Coldwell, Jake Coldwell, Wayne Garner, and Robert Dimitt. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Dave Moore, Terry Garner, Dennis Carey and Billy Ray Goodnight.
Dennis Brent Coldwell was born on December 1st, 1946 in Tahlequah, OK, the son of Floyd Guy and Helen Christine (Willis) Coldwell. He was raised alongside siblings Peggy, Bobby, Barbara, and Allen. Dennis attended Tahlequah High School. A lover of animals, there was nothing he enjoyed more than his horses; he bred, trained, and raced quarter horses for over 50 years.
He had two children, a son, Brent and a daughter, Shelley. He loved hearing about their lives, especially news of his grandchildren. He enjoyed family get-togethers where he could spend time with those he loved most. Later in life, Dennis enjoyed a quiet existence in Stillwell, OK. He appreciated mornings in the garden, afternoons spent canning, and visits from friends and family.
Dennis passed from this life on Monday, November 27th, 2017 in Tahlequah, OK, at the age of 70. He will be truly missed.
Dennis is preceded in death by his mother and father, and by his grandparents.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Shelley Goodnight and husband Kevin of Tahlequah, OK and his son, Brent Coldwell and wife Elizabeth of Coweta. He leaves his brothers, Bobby Coldwell and wife Sharon and Allen Coldwell and wife Zella both of Tahlequah, OK, and his sisters, Peggy Henshaw and husband Robert of Broken Arrow, OK and Barbara Fritts and husband Dennis of Tulsa, OK. He lives on in his six adored grandchildren, Chase, Cassie and Cole Goodnight and Dakota, Tre, and Madison Coldwell as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
