Dakota's Story

Text size

Dakota Scott LaMountain entered this world on May 14, 1995 as a Mother’s Day present in Vinita, Oklahoma. He went to be with the Lord on April 19, 2016.
Dakota lived his short time on this Earth as a very happy person, he never met a stranger or someone he would not stop to help. Dakota loved the outdoors and nature, along with every creepy, crawling thing he could sneak home. He had a gift of building things and a passion for semi- trucks and traveling the country with his Papa and Nanny while they drove trucks. Dakota enjoyed the simple life on the farm riding horses and fishing with his Papaw Wiggins. He also loved camping and fishing with his grandparent Bennett’s. Dakota was adventurous and loved to make people laugh, he was very loyal to his family and friends. By no means was he perfect, he had his annoying quirks, but that’s what made Dakota the person we all love and will forever miss. Dakota was preceded in death by his grandmother, Georgia L. Hopkins. He is survived by his girlfriend of three years, Taylor Zahm; parents, Stacy and David Bennett, and Jefferson LaMountain; siblings, Bryan Box, Noah Bennett, Raven LaMountain, Shawnda and Aaron Bieler, James, Davidson, and Daykneel Bennett, Jerry Jennings Jr., and Daenerys LaMountain; nieces, Makayla and Rebecca; nephews, Shawn, Caleb, and Avery; grandparents, Johnny and Charlotte Wiggins, David and Deloris Bennett, Arthur and Billy Hopkins; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Dakota’s visitation will be held on Friday, April 22, 2016 from 7 to 9pm and Funeral Service will be on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 12:00pm both to be held at Lawson’s Funeral Home 722 N. 46th St Grove, Ok. 74344.
