TAHLEQUAH – Graveside services for Carol Jean Presley, 74, of Fort Gibson, are 10 a.m. Saturday, June 6, at the Holland Cemetery. Arrangements have been placed under the care of Green Country Funeral Home. Carol was born November 25, 1940, in Tahlequah, to Cecil and Edna (Rigsby) Scott. She passed away on May 30, 2015, in Fort Gibson. Carol attended schools through the Cherokee County School system. After high school, she married Levi Carter and began raising her family. She worked at Ozark Nursery, Northeastern State University, and Cherokee Builders. Carol would remarry and make her home in Woodall with new husband Jack Presley. Carol enjoyed her time with her grandchildren, reading to them and teaching them to cook. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack Presley; son, John Carter; infant son, Thomas Lawley; sister, Jo Ann Scott; and dear friend, Bill Tennison. She is survived by her daughter, Jeanne May of Tahlequah; step daughters, Kim Greigtardiff and husband Ralph of Park Hill, and Karen Presley also of Park Hill; nine grandchildren, David Carter, Jenny Brackett, Andrea Gauntt, Sarah Byrun, Dutch Presley, Meagan Encinas, Jackie Martin, Josh Martin, and Jessica Riley; 23 great-grandchildren; daughter in law, Donna Carter of Tahlequah; and numerous other friends and loved ones.
