Funeral services for Beryl Elizabeth Collins, 69 years young of Tahlequah, Oklahoma will be 10:00 am at Green Country Funeral Home, December 29, 2017. Officiating will be TJ Scraper. Pallbearers are Joe Collins, Zachary Jackson, Dale Hunter, Dale Wilcox, Terry Stover and Dale Lee Glory. She will be laid to rest at Tahlequah City Cemetery under the care of Green Country Funeral Home. She passed away December 23, 2017, at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Beryl Collins was born in Lawton, Oklahoma on June 8, 1948, to Euric and Pat (Miller) Hunter. She attended several schools growing up, and was a 1966 graduate of Tahlequah High School, which is where she met her future husband, Ronnie Collins. She and Ronnie were married on April 5, 1969 in Wewoka, Oklahoma, and had celebrated 48 years together.
Beryl had worked in finance and banking, before retiring as a teacher at The United Methodist Childrens Home in Tahlequah. She enjoyed shopping, reading , classical movies and spending time with her family, especially at Christmas.
Beryl was preceded in death by her father, Euric Hunter; and a sister in law, Judy Collins Stover.
She is survived by her mother, Pat Hunter, of Hominy Oklahoma; her husband, Ronnie Collins of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; daughter, Pattie Jackson and husband James, of Coweta Oklahoma; son, Marcus Collins and wife Kimberley, of Claremore, Oklahoma; daughter, Jamie Collins, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; and daughter, Elizabeth Pennekamp and husband Dave, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; sister, Carol Blaylock, of Tulsa; brother, Duane Hunter and wife DiAnne of Joplin Missouri, along with five grandchildren, Zachary, Jesse and Tara Jackson, Chasiti Phillips and husband Mitchel, of Claremore; one great grandson; and multiple nieces and nephews.
